I am an IC Design Engineer, also known a microelectronics engineer. Basically I design chips. More specifically I design Network Processor Chips. For example if you have ADSL (also known as Broadband) the likelihood of you using a processor I worked on is
fairly high. It is an intellectually stimulating job but not very active. I sit at a computer all day.
Building things like my Car etc allows me to design and develop things where I get to use my practical skills. I can see myself switching careers in the future to do a more practical and hands on design and development job as I feel this is where my love lies.
